Support people persecuted for anti-war views | Big fundraiser

On February 24, it will be 3 years since Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine. Catastrophic news has become a part of daily life, yet we have not grown accustomed to it.

Nor have we become used to the fact that opposing the war now means opposing the state. The ideals instilled in us since childhood—that war is evil, that it brings death, destruction, and horror, that we must never allow another war—have been pushed to the margins. But forbidding people from calling war by its name does not make it any less catastrophic or bloody.

Today we are launching a €12,000 fundraiser for political prisoners persecuted for their anti-war stands. They are in need of our backing and support.

7 000 €
We need to raise: 12 000 €

172,500 roubles (€1,860) will pay for a defence lawyer for Nikolai Trofimov. He is accused of rehabilitating Nazism for putting black paint on the victory banner and the flag of the Russian Federation.

20,000 roubles (€320) will allow a lawyer to visit Anastasia Dyudyaeva who was sentenced to 3,5 years in a penal colony on a case of “incitement to terrorism” for putting up postcards in support of Ukraine in a supermarket.

140,000 rubles (€1,510) will pay for two months of work of the lawyer in the case of Olga Komleva. On 27 March the activist and journalist from Ufa was sent to pre-trial detention for participation in Navalny’s ‘extremist’ community, later Olga was also charged with an article on military ‘fakes’.

90,000 roubles (€970) are needed to pay for the work of a lawyer, to visit the colony and to send medication for Gregory Vinter. The human rights defender from Cherepovets is serving a sentence in the colony for writing in VK about the crimes of the Russian military in Bucha and Irpen. Gregory has diabetes mellitus, he needs to constantly take life-saving medication.

180,000 roubles (€1,950) will refill prison system accounts for 9 political prisoners imprisoned for anti-war views. With this money, they can buy food or sanitary items in a prison shop. We will be able to transfer 10,000 roubles to each of them twice within two months.

Anonymous Requests

We cannot disclose the names of all those we support. Below are the individuals for whom we are raising funds anonymously.

114,300 rubles (€1,140) are needed to pay for a lawyer for a pensioner from Moscow. He is suspected of confidential cooperation with foreigners and is currently in a pre-trial detention center.

113,000 rubles (€1,130) are required to pay for a lawyer for a woman who has been charged for several anti-war comments on social media.

60,000 rubles (€600) are being collected to pay for a lawyer during the investigation phase for a political prisoner being tried for a VK post. He posted a video about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ advance into Russian territory, accompanied by a comment that law enforcement considered a call to terrorism.

100,000 rubles (€1,000) are needed as a reserve fund to assist political prisoners with anti-war positions. This will allow us to respond promptly to urgent requests for legal assistance and the collection of essential parcels (e.g., with medications).

92,980 rubles (€1020) will cover payment system commissions. Unfortunately, these expenses are unavoidable.

In total, we need to raise 1,022,780 rubles (approximately €12,000).

Please support those who were not afraid to express a position that many of us share!
