Yakovlev Yury Aleksandrovich

Yakovlev Yury Aleksandrovich, born June 15, 1966, and lives in Sosnovoborsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai. He was sentenced to 6 years and 2 months in a general regime penal colony on charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organizing the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with his membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia. The appellate court upheld the sentence. He has been in custody since March 30, 2022.
