Serebriakov Aleksandr Georgievich, born April 13, 1977, lived in Moscow.
On charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organisation of the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia, he was sentenced to 6.5 years of suspended imprisonment with a restriction of freedom for 1 year and a probationary period of 4 years. He was in custody from February 10, 2021 to August 8, 2022, then under a personal recognisance (a written undertaking not to leave the city) until November 21, 2022.
In 2023, he was accused under Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Financing the activities of an extremist organisation"). On 13 December 2024 he was sentenced to 5 years in a general regime colony.
He has been in custody since September 20, 2023.
