Savvin Oleg Sergeevich

Savvin Oleg Sergeevich was born on January 2, 1988, lives in Kaliningrad, civil activist.

He was sentenced to 1 year and 1 month in a general regime penal colony for committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Hooliganism motivated by political hatred or enmity by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) in connection with the placement of the German flag on the building of the FSB Directorate for the Kaliningrad Region on March 11, 2014. He was released after serving his sentence on June 17, 2015 in the courtroom. On October 6 of the same year, the Kaliningrad Regional Court rejected the appeals against the verdict, excluding the reference to hatred towards veterans from the verdict.

In February 2018, the ECHR communicated the complaint of Oleg Savvin and Evgeny Feldman.

Following his solo pickets in support of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov and against Russian President Putin, held in 2018, the court ordered administrative supervision. He was banned from participating in public events for a year and was also required to report to law enforcement agencies once a month.

On March 19, 2025, a new criminal case was opened against Savvin under Part 2 of Article 207.3 ("Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces", up to 10 years in prison); the next day, he was taken into custody by the Leningradsky District Court of Kaliningrad.
