Khamroev Bakhrom Mardonovich
Khamroev Bakhrom Mardonovich, born October 12, 1963. Citizen of the Russian Federation, lived in Moscow; higher education, has a minor child in his care. Head of the Yordam Foundation for Legal and Social Support of Migrants, was a member of the Memorial Human Rights Center until its liquidation in April 2022, an activist of the Uzbek opposition People's Movement Birlik.
On charges of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activity, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism committed using the media or electronic or information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet") and Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation"), he was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony. The appellate court reduced the sentence to 13 years and 9 months of imprisonment with the reclassification of episodes under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which took place before 2013, to Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of an extremist organisation") and the termination of prosecution for these episodes due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
