Dolzhikov Dmitry Nikolaevich

Dolzhikov Dmitry Nikolaevich, born June 30, 1978, and lives in Chelyabinsk. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 1 year of restricted freedom for committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("participation in the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with his membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses, which is banned in Russia. However, the court replaced the sentence with 3 years of compulsory work with a 10% salary deduction for the benefit of the state and 1 year of restricted freedom. The appellate court upheld the sentence.

He was held in custody from September 9 to November 24, 2022, when he was transferred to house arrest. After the verdict, he was under a written undertaking not to leave the country from June 30 to September 22, 2023.
